I just realized I mentioned how my week 20 appointment would be my next "big" milestone thus update. I had my week 20 appointment last Friday, everything went well. We had a full anatomy scan done and everything is just as it is supposed to be. The tech said his head is measuring a little big, but I am not putting too much weight on that since apparently they told my sister the same thing several times and everything turned out just fine. I didn't get a very good profile picture of him because he was head down facing my spine.
After convincing my mom that ANOTHER December birthday would NOT be the end of the world, we decided to induce 12/27 or 12/28, for several reasons. We also discussed the few things we had already decided such as whether or not I was going to have an epidural (um YES, matter of fact TWO please!), who was going to be present in the room (Duh, hands down Michael and my mother), and whether we wanted to circumcise our little man, (Yes). To me it was never a question on whether I would have my boy, if and when I had one, circumcised, however I have gotten unsolicited opinions that have come from some of the most random places, telling me how WRONG it is. I have discussed this with my OB and both Michael and I agree, it is what we want to do, so to the rest of the world that thinks we are BAD parents for this...keep your opinions to yourself. THANKS!

Also, since my last blog, we have officially moved into the house and are loving every minute of it! Everything is basically done, with the exception of the nursery, although I am fairly certain that wont feel done until the day we bring Mason home! I really think the only thing we are still waiting on are my paintings to ship from across seas and then the living room will be done, completing the house. Everything except the living room pictured below:

I need to correct myself, when I say loving EVERY minute of the new house, there was a minute or two that I didn't love so much, that would be the minute or two we found the Black Widow Spiders!!! YIKES! But we had our pest defense people come out and spray and haven't seen ANY spiders, including crazy ass Black Widows.

Michael proposed on July 3rd which is special to us for our own reasons. The way he did it was perfect for US! We were just sitting out on the patio trying to watch the fireworks, I was telling Blake about the previous years 4th of July events, which was apparently part of the proposal, oops!
I need to get my ring sized, problem is I don't want to do it while I am pregnant. I have already lost it once in the washer, it got cleaned with the rest of the laundry that day, lucky for me, I found it! Since then I haven't been wearing it on my ring finger because it is entirely too big, but I am still too stubborn to get it sized. We have officially (signed a contract and all) decided on the Hard Rock Cancun, Sept 7th, 2013! I cannot wait! Just one more thing to
patiently wait for.

ReplyDeleteI do want to mention something that you may not know, most of a man's sexual pleasure is in his foreskin, and having one makes sex much better for the woman as well. That's something serious to think about when making such an important decision for your son.
My husband was cut as a baby, and we both wish he wasn't. We are glad that our sons have all those extra nerves to enjoy!

I can respect others decision to not circumcise their baby boys as I hope others can respect my decision to circumcise mine. I have to wonder though, how does any boy/man know whether or not they have more or less sensation one way or the other? In order to know something feels more or less of something, they would have to have experienced both ways. So even for those that are circumcised later in life, they don't know how much feeling they would have lost or not lost had they been circumcised earlier in life, right? And for anyone who has a surgical procedure to re-attach their foreskin, how do they know that they have in fact recovered all sensation or that it is not EXTRA sensitive simply because it is a part of the body that has been altered, they can't say for certain that it is because they are suddenly circumcised or have their foreskin attached, there is just no way of knowing that.
In addition, the comment you made about a non-circumcised penis feeling better for the women. I myself have been with both circumcised and uncircumcised men and I cannot imagine how one would determine it was specifically due to the foreskin or lack there of, that made the sex more or less pleasurable. In my experience the best sex I have had has been with an circumcised penis, I however am not saying it is BECAUSE he was circumcised, I just think the two of us were more compatible and "fit" both figuratively and literally better :).

Lol that is funny, oops guess I could've warned you! :) Honestly what my OB said was...a father's penis is the 1st penis a baby boy will most likely see, he will want to identify, so whatever the father is, she recommends that is what the parents should do. Just as another argument not to or for based on sensation or health reasons, but for identity and bonding reasons.
